Complaint for Pasco County Sheriff.

On Saturday, May 2nd 2006 I was driving home from Low's store in New Port Richey. After I entered Wood Trail Village where I live, at about 3:00 PM, I was attacked by 2 white males. They open doors on both side of my car. Forcefully place the gear to parking position and ripped off the ignition key. The keys were thrown on the ground away from the car. I was verbally and physically threatened. I managed to run away from this incident. I called 911.

After about 30 minutes Sheriff car arrived at my home. The sheriff asked the same questions for 15 minutes. I asked the sheriff to go and investigate the scene of the crime that is only one block away from my house. After over 45 minutes after the attack the sheriff pathetically decided to go to the place. It happened that the thugs who attacked me were still outside the house where the attack happened. After questioning them by the sheriff they told him that nothing happened. The sheriff came again to my house and told me that it is crime to call 911 with no emergency situation and giving wrong message to authority is a crime. Since nothing happened to me physically there was no crime and I should not call 911. I asked the sheriff what should I do. He said just avoid the neighborhood. He left without writing any report.

From victim of robbery I became criminal because I dared to call authority reporting crime. After the sheriff left, the attacker who lives next block took his car and drove to see where my car is parked and where I live. The intimidation goes on by the thugs who attacked me. Since I live in Wood Trail Village how can I avoid the neighborhood? The pathetic sheriff who came and would not fight real crime probably does it on daily basis since it is easier not investigate or write any reports. The crime goes on and at the same time the Pasco County raised property taxes on my property for over $1000.00 this year.

At the web site of Pasco County Sheriff - http://pascosheriff.com/ Mr. Bob White Sheriff says this: " The mission of the Pasco County Sheriff's Office is to improve the quality of life in our community by reducing fear, preventing crime and enforcing the law while protecting each individual's freedoms guaranteed by the United States Constitution."

After only few scratches and broken window I must say I am happy to be alive. To the sheriff of Pasco County the thugs who attacked me and drive by my house should have their freedoms protected since the victim of their crime must live in fear.

In my opinion the sheriff who is not willing to do anything about real crime is not much different from the criminals who commit the crime.

Sincerely,

Ted Jeczalik,
