BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
 
 
 
 
GEORG LUHRIG was born on 26th of January 1868 in Gottingen.
Painter and
Lithographer in Dresden. Teacher at the Dresden Academy of Human Figure, Portraits,Landscapes and Flowers.
 
LUHRIG attended school in Gottingen until 1885 , then went to the academy in
Munich fom 1885 - 1889 where he was a student of Raupp, Johann Hesteruch and Lotrz.
 
After an interim stay in Italy and Gottingen. he settled in Dresden in 1894.
From 1898 - 1901 he lived in Romania. He produced varied lithographs and oil paintings.
 
Some of his most noteworthy works are:
" DEATH DANCE"
1891 - 1893, twelve monochromatic drawings
" ROCKBEATER"
1891, oil painting ( owned by Dresden Art Society )
" NUDE"
1895, oil painting
" POOR LAZARUS"
1896 - 1897, sixteen rock drawings (publish ftom F. Richter in Dresden)
Following oil paintings from 1898 - 1901:
" THREE GIRLS ", " CATTLE HERO" ( owned by Furst of Schonburg in Dresden),
" THE OLD TREE " ( owned by Freiherm of Schuppenbach in Loschitz ).
Luhrig was a member of  The German Artist's League.
